Product Description
Before starting the mold design process, the material selection, production method, and 3D geometry of the part are determined, followed by the creation of a tolerance-based technical drawing.
For the Conceptual Mold Design, technical specifications of the machine, such as tonnage, stroke distance, and mounting plate dimensions, are required. Additionally, factors like total production volume, monthly production targets, cycle time, and investment budget are taken into account to determine the number of cavities in the mold. If the mold is for plastic injection molding, key considerations such as the need for a moving core, runner and ejector types, and cooling system principles are defined at this stage.
Once an agreement is reached with the customer regarding the fundamental mold principles, and the order is confirmed, the detailed design phase begins. The mold is designed in 3D, its operating principles are analyzed, and the step-by-step movement sequence is examined. If potential defects are anticipated during production, a mold flow analysis can be conducted to optimize runner placement, reducing risks through production simulation.
After finalizing the detailed mold design, the necessary materials are ordered, and manufacturing begins. Once the mold is completed, it undergoes trial testing, part verification, and final approval, concluding the production process.
