UK flexible packaging producer BakPac has expanded its production capabilities with the installation of two TOTANI automatic spout inserters at its Brentwood operation.
The investment, valued at more than half a million pounds, is aimed at increasing capacity for custom-printed spouted pouches used for refill, liquid and pourable products. The equipment arrived in early August and was installed and commissioned with support from TOTANI engineers.
Spouted pouches are increasingly used across household products, food, beverages, personal care and other markets where lightweight packaging and refill formats are gaining attention.
The investment is another example of converters adding specialized downstream equipment to respond to changing packaging formats and shorter, more flexible production requirements.
