Bimetallic Barrel
The fundamental feature of bimetallic barrels is to provide high wear and corrosion resistance. The lifespan of bimetallic barrels is 3 to 5 times longer than that of standard nitrided steel barrels.
Additionally, bimetallic barrels are preferred in applications where highly abrasive fillers like CaCO3 or glass fiber, which cause excessive wear, are used. They are also recommended for high-speed extruders that require high capacity.
When considering cost-performance ratio, it will be seen that bimetallic barrels are much more economical.
